Memnon's Crater: Named after the arch-necromancer that caused this giant crater by conjuring a large meteor or nondescript mass of earth that crashed in the forest and destroyed Alyria. A place of rememberance and grief, often cited when the dangers of magic abuse are mentioned. Alyrians, as well as other cultures, still hold sermons and festivals of rememberance nearby.
Lurieth: This minor plain off Droeddmor's western slopes also lends its name to the large river and all its branches, often referred to as "minor Lurieths". The name comes from a legend about a mischevious creature of the forest by the name of Lurieth, who would lure passing males with the promises of love and lust, only to ensnare them in her web of deceit and make them her slaves. Whether there is any truth in this legend is unsure, but the name of Lurieth to this day "graces" this tract of land, as well as women of ill repute are sometimes referred to as "lurieths".
The Heath: Aptly named for its scarce dry grasses and tumbleweeds, this dried lakebed and tract of dried riverbed that darts from it were once known as lake Sahrid. With time and climate change, the water was drained away, remaining only in the small nest that is the central oasis of Zahir. The Heath is littered with the bones of all the unfortunate creatures that stray into it and can't find their way back, a grim warning to all.
Vorsartz Bluff: This relatively tall rocky formation takes its name from Luke Vorsartz, first explorer to ever scale its cliffs and reach the top. The achievement was greatly hailed in its time, but any further attempts to climb the bluff were abandoned, since the top proved to be nothing but bare rock, arid and inhospitable. More notably, the mountain is hollow, home to the largest brood of formians on Khaeros.
